Please read ALL the below

All instructions and guidance during classes are an invitation to challenge you mentally and physically and therefore Yoga Flow Academy events are only suitable for healthy and mentally stable persons.

If you have an injury or medical condition you may still be able to attend the training if you are still able to practice and are ready to modifying as necessary.

All trainees are required to inform us prior to booking of any chronic or acute injuries or any mental or physiological conditions that may negate your ability to complete the intensive training safely.

If you are asked to leave a training based on the above you will not be entitled to a refund.

Trainees are expected to take responsibility for themselves and approach each yoga practice with sensitivity and awareness to what and how they are feeling mentally and physically at all times. We encourage students to be sensitive to their limitations and always stop if they experience any pain or sickness.

We recommend that all people travelling abroad have comprehensive travel, cancellation & medical insurance for the duration of the yoga retreat/training.

We do not accept responsibility or liability for cancellations, delays, changes or losses caused by acts of God, war, and threat of war, closure of airports, civil strife, natural disasters, accidents or any other events beyond our control. The same applies to guests’ injuries, illnesses, medical or psychiatric conditions developed during or subsequent to the holiday, as well as loss of /or damage to personal property of guests.

Whilst it is unlikely that we shall have to make changes to bookings, scheduled teachers, the venue or other matters, we reserve the right to do so at any time and will inform you accordingly.

At our discretion we reserve the right to give concessions and discounts. This does not automatically entitle other participants to the same concessions or discounts. Only one discount is applicable per person. No combining of discounts allowed. Discounts are to be utilised with payment. We do not ‘refund’ a discount

Yoga Flow Academy is a 100% alcohol, cigarette and drug free zone.

Alcohol and drugs are disturbing and unbeneficial. We encourage and invite you to not smoke, drink or take drugs during thetraining so you can get the most out of yourself and the yoga retreat/training.

We recognize that for some of you some habits will be difficult to stop completely and therefore request that if you choose to indulge in any toxins that you do so beyond the parameters of the venue.

If any student is continually disruptive or fails to comply with the above (and below) terms and conditions we reserve the rightto dismiss that person from the training and ask them to leave the venue.

In respect for the group and the teachings we request that trainees arrive in ample time before the beginning of every class. Any late arrivals may find that they are not admitted into the class.

Yoga Flow Academy is recognized as a 200, 95% attendance is required in order to receive a certificate. Since the trainings are scheduled as intensives there is very little room for non-attendance.

In the case of continuous non-attendance additional hours of study on a future training will be required and a certificate of either 100, 150 or 175 hours will be issued to reflect the hours completed. Additional hours of study are subject to a teaching fee. If a student has a slight illness we encourage them to attend the class and observe, as it is our experience that by being present and listening many of the teachings can be still be digested. If illness is severe we request to be informed so that if necessary we can call a doctor on your behalf.

Certificates are presented to trainees on the basis of performance and attendance throughout the training. All students are required to achieve 75% pass rates in exams and assessments and express a basic level of sensitivity & awareness and a genuine yogic attitude and approach to practice and teaching. If a student fails in any part of the training assessments yet is deemed to have the capacity to pass re-takes will be offered.

It is Yoga Flow Academy’s experience that all students who apply themselves to the best of their ability pass. However in the unlikely event that a student has not grasped the fundamentals of teaching, cannot teach in a safe and effective way or is unable to express the qualities of a sincere yoga practitioner/teacher Yoga Flow Academy reserves the right to maintain its teaching standards. In cases where the standard has not been met the trainee will be given a temporary certificate which states ‘more training recommended before teaching to the public’.

In the rare case that a trainee does, on final assessment, need extra time developing their skills and yogic approach to satisfy the basic standard of teaching additional training can be completed via self-study and through practice teaching to friends. When the trainee feels ready for re-assessment they can send a video of themselves teaching. If the basic standard of teaching has then been demonstrated through the video footage a standard certificate will then be issued.

Homework is given for you to clarify your understanding of any new information or teachings that you receive during class. We request that all students keep up to date with their homework and inform us if they have difficulties or issues with the homework they are given.

If you have any personal problem, difficulty or issue with anybody on the training (teacher or student) please talk to your Support Group Leader or the Student Coordinator as soon as a problem arises. Most instances of difficulties between individuals in a group are generally a case of misunderstanding or miscommunication and can easily be dealt with.

The training is not suitable for pregnant women or for anyone on medication for serious physical or mental conditions unless covered by a doctor’s note. On arrival to the training one of the things we request is that all students sign a disclaimer stating that they are fit and healthy both mentally and physically and they are prepared for intensive practices that may lead to emotional and physical releases. Ultimately we ask that each person take responsibility for himself or herself. This means resting when needing to or ‘backing off’ when one feels about to move beyond any personal limitation (physical or mental).

If a trainee experiences any kind of crisis we are there to help and be supportive, however it must be recognized that we are not doctors or trained councillors. We have connections with local professionals, doctors, therapists and spiritual councillors (Indian and Western) so if you need to see a professional it can be arranged.
